Consider This

Consider This

Sorcery – Use of supernatural power over others through the assistance of evil spirits: necromancy

Necromancy – communication with the spirits of the dead in order to predict the future.

Supernatural – A power that seems to violate or go beyond natural laws.

Natural laws – A law or body of laws that derives from nature and is thought to be binding on human actions apart from or in conjunction with laws established by human authority.

Eph. 2:1-3 As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath.

If we live in the world of the dead and are following their ways and the ways of the spirit of those who are disobedient in hopes of gratifying our sinful nature, is this not also sorcery, necromancy, and supernatural?

Sons of God not Sons of Men

Sons of God not Sons of Men

Gal. 4:6-9, 19 Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.” So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir. Formerly, when you did not know God, you were slaves to those who by nature are not gods. But now that you know God – or rather are known by God, which is to say Christ is formed in you – you are a son.

(Son in this case is like the word Man in Genesis 1:27, there is no distinction of gender, male and female alike God created them a son in Christ.)

Romans 8:13, 14 . . . if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

18 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.

Gal. 3:26-28 You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 4:9 . . . born by the power of the Spirit.

Heb. 2:11 Both the one who makes men holy and those who are made holy are of the same family.

See Rev.14:1-5

Obviously there is a distinction between the sons of God and the sons of men.

2Cor. 6:14-18 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony is there between Christ and Belial?  What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.” “Therefore come out from them and be separate, touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.” “I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”

Consider marriage in the light of what it means to be Immortal, a son of God, the perfect match could only be with another immortal. Now recalling Gen. 6:2-4 I realized that the Sons of God became mortal/corrupt by taking daughters of men as wives instead of their own kind, which would have been daughters of God. (It would be the same if the daughters of God were given in marriage to sons of men) They would be unequally yoked in either case, or corrupted/mortal, no longer children of the Immortal God.

See Gen. 6:1-6, and

Deut. 32:5, 6, 19 They have acted corruptly toward him; to their shame they are no longer his children, but a warped and crooked generation. Is this the way you repay the Lord, O foolish and unwise people? Is he not your Father, your Creator, who made you and formed you?
The Lord saw this and rejected them because he was angered by his sons and daughters. (That is the warped and crooked generations of them.)

What it means to be Immortal

What it means to be Immortal

Is to believe the one God has sent;

John 6:38—40 For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all that he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. (Not necessarily our last day of living since we are talking about eternal life but the last day of doubt, the day we believe.)

John 11:25—26 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live (spiritually speaking), even though he dies (physically speaking), and whoever lives (physically speaking) and believes in me will never die (spiritually speaking).”

Is to hear his word;

John 5:24—25 “I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life. I tell you the truth, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live.

Is to keep his word;

John 8:51 I tell you the truth, if anyone keeps my word, he will never see death.”

Is to listen and follow;

John 10:27—28 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me, I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand.

Is to know God and Jesus Christ;

John 17:3 Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.

Is to be in Christ Jesus;

Romans 8:1—2 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.

Is to have your mind controlled by the Spirit;

Rom.8:6 The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace;

Is to have life for your mortal bodies through Gods Spirit living in you;

Rom. 8:10—11 But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness. And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you.

Is to be a son (child) of God;

Rom. 8: 13—14 For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

What it means to be Immortal is to be changed;

1 Cor. 15:51—58, 51 Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed –

53 For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. 54 When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.” 55 “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?”

Is to be made new;
2 Cor. 5:16—17 So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

If you see only the ear or any one part of Christ, do you not see Christ none the less? Is not every part of Christ immortal, body, head, and all? Therefore if you are in Christ, a part of his body, that part of his body is immortal also. Living a life of love is to take part in immortality, that life of love is immortal whether we take part in it or not. To believe in that life of love is to be clothed with immortality. The mortal has been replaced. That Spirit of love is called Christ. Before you disagree you need know that the Lord is the Spirit, 2Cor.3:17. The meaning of our life now takes on a new and more, heavenly, dimension. Eph. 2:6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,
1Cor. 12:12–27, 2Cor. 3:17—18, Gal. 5:24, Eph. 1:23, 3:19, 4:11—24, Col. Ch. 1 and 2

What it means to be Immortal is to be part of Christ.
Matt. 13:11 “The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them.
