The Sea, The Water, The Lake

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.  Genesis 1:1-3;

tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; Ephesians 4:14;

to GATHER THEM TOGETHER to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. Revelation 20:8;

(the "sea", ungodly men Jude 1:4; Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; Jude 1:13);

  And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. 3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. Genesis 1:1-3;

7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. 8 And God called the firmament Heaven. Genesis 1:7-8;

and the GATHERING TOGETHER of the waters called he Seas: Genesis 1:10;

the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Revelation 21:8;

whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. Revelation 20:15

and there was no more "sea". Revelation 21:1

Spiritual Manipulation

‘Woe unto him that giveth his neighbour drink, that puttest thy bottle to him, and makest him drunken also, that thou mayest look on their (spirit of error) nakedness!’ In other words, so that you may bring them down to your level or lower so you may look down on them and judge them. Or, so that you can gain “glory” over a congregation of personal disciples. ‘Thou art filled with shame for glory: drink thou also, and let thy foreskin (spiritual uncircumcision) be uncovered: the cup of the LORD's right hand shall be turned unto thee, and shameful spewing shall be on thy glory.’ Habakkuk 2:15-16

what we’re drawing out of Habakkuk 2:15–16 is exactly the prophetic anatomy of spiritual manipulation—the ancient pattern of one soul attempting to intoxicate another so that their nakedness (their vulnerability, their error, their shame) becomes visible for exploitation. The text is not merely about literal drink; it is about inducing spiritual stupor so that one may gain advantage, authority, or false glory.

The core prophetic charge

“Woe unto him that giveth his neighbour drink…” This is the one who feeds another a spirit of error, not to heal them, but to expose them. It is the leader, teacher, or influencer who wants disciples, not brothers; who wants dependence, not mutual edification; who wants to be seen as the one with insight because he has made others blind.

The “drink” is whatever clouds discernment:

flattery

false doctrine

fear

emotional dependency

spiritual intimidation

selective scripture

personal charisma

the subtle pressure to conform

Anything that makes another “drunk” enough to lose spiritual clarity becomes the bottle in the hand of the manipulator.

The motive

“…that thou mayest look on their nakedness.” Not to cover it, as Noah’s righteous sons did, but to gaze, to judge, to elevate oneself by the exposure of another. This is the opposite of Christ, who covers shame, restores dignity, and clothes the naked with His righteousness.

This is the spirit of:

control

comparison

self‑exaltation

false spiritual authority

It is the leader who needs others to be weak so he can appear strong.

The divine reversal

“Thou art filled with shame for glory.” The very thing the manipulator sought—glory, honor, spiritual reputation—becomes the source of his shame. God turns the cup around. The one who intoxicated others becomes intoxicated by his own delusion.

“Drink thou also…” The Lord forces him to taste the fruit of his own spiritual corruption.

“…and let thy foreskin be uncovered.” This is the prophetic exposure of spiritual uncircumcision—the heart not cut, not consecrated, not separated unto God. The one who exposed others is now exposed by God.

The final judgment

“The cup of the LORD’s right hand shall be turned unto thee.” The right hand is the hand of:

justice

truth

power

vindication

The manipulator’s cup becomes God’s cup. The one who shamed others is shamed by the Lord Himself.

“…and shameful spewing shall be on thy glory.” Everything he built—his following, his reputation, his spiritual empire—becomes defiled. The “glory” he sought is covered in the filth of his own corruption.

The spiritual pattern

Induce error in another to gain advantage.

Exploit their vulnerability for personal glory.

God reverses the cup and exposes the manipulator.

False glory collapses under divine shame.

This is the prophetic warning against any form of ministry, teaching, or influence that seeks to lower others so that one may appear higher.

The Christlike alternative

True spiritual authority:

lifts others

covers shame

restores dignity

protects weakness

refuses to exploit vulnerability

refuses to intoxicate with error

refuses to build personal glory on another’s struggle

The Son of Man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give His life—not to take advantage of the nakedness of others, but to clothe them with His own.

When I look at Habakkuk 2:15-16 I am reminded of Revelation 20:8-10

Habakkuk 2:15–16 and Revelation 20:8–10 describe the same spiritual pattern, but at two different scales. One is the micro‑pattern of corrupt spiritual influence; the other is the macro‑pattern of the final revolt of deception. When you place them side by side, they illuminate each other with remarkable clarity.

1. Habakkuk 2:15–16 — the anatomy of deception

Habakkuk exposes the mechanics of spiritual corruption:

One soul intoxicates another

Not to heal, but to expose

Not to restore, but to shame

Not to lift, but to dominate

The “drink” is the spirit of error. The “nakedness” is the vulnerability of the deceived. The “glory” sought is false spiritual authority.

And God responds with:

exposure

reversal

shame

judgment

The deceiver becomes the deceived. The manipulator becomes the exposed. The false glory becomes shame.

This is the principle.

2. Revelation 20:8–10 — the principle scaled to its final form

What Habakkuk describes in miniature, Revelation shows in its final cosmic expression.

Gog and Magog are the nations of corrupted imagination — the full perimeter of the soul’s unyielded territory. The devil “goes out to deceive” in the same way the manipulator in Habakkuk gives drink.

The pattern is identical:

Habakkuk

A deceiver intoxicates

A victim becomes vulnerable

The deceiver gains false glory

God reverses the cup

Fire (judgment) exposes and destroys the deception

Revelation 20

The devil deceives the nations

The nations rise in blindness

They surround the saints

God sends fire from heaven

The deceiver is cast into the lake of fire

Same pattern. Different scale.

Habakkuk is the seed. Revelation 20 is the harvest.

3. The shared spiritual structure

Both passages reveal the same fourfold movement:

1. Deception

A false spirit is poured out — whether by a corrupt leader (Habakkuk) or the devil himself (Revelation).

2. Intoxication

The deceived lose clarity, become vulnerable, and rise up in confusion.

3. Exposure

The manipulator’s motive is revealed:

to shame

to dominate

to gain glory

to surround the saints

4. Divine fire

God intervenes with purifying judgment:

shame on false glory (Habakkuk)

fire from heaven (Revelation)

the lake of fire (Revelation)

In both cases, the deceiver is destroyed by the very corruption he created.

4. Why this connection is spiritually precise

We are tracing the prophetic logic of Scripture:

Habakkuk shows the inner dynamics of deception.

Revelation shows the final outcome of deception.

Habakkuk is the psychology of deception. Revelation is the eschatology of deception.

Habakkuk shows the individual manipulator. Revelation shows the cosmic manipulator.

Habakkuk shows the cup. Revelation shows the lake.

Habakkuk shows the shame. Revelation shows the torment.

Habakkuk shows the exposure of uncircumcision. Revelation shows the annihilation of deception.

We’re seeing the same spirit of error, the same pattern of corruption, the same divine reversal, and the same fire of judgment.

Here is a distilled statement that captures the connection:

Habakkuk 2 reveals the anatomy of deception; Revelation 20 reveals its final destruction. The one who intoxicates another to expose their nakedness becomes the one exposed by God. The deceiver’s cup becomes the lake of fire. What begins as personal manipulation ends as cosmic judgment. The fire that shames false glory in Habakkuk is the same fire that devours Gog and Magog in Revelation.

The Wine in the Bottle

It is not a matter of waiting for the coming of Christ, it is a matter of receiving Him.

12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: John 1:12 (John 1: verse 14 and 16 are the results of verse 12 and 13).

‘As many as received him,’ John 1:12 ‘…were born’ John 1:13 ‘…of God.’ John 1:13 and, the results; ‘…the Word was made flesh’ John 1:14 ‘…full of grace and truth.’ John 1:14 ‘And of his fulness have all we received’ John 1:16.

‘The future coming of Christ is real…’ (I think this parcel of someone’s statement comes from “the bottle from which they have been drinking” and is the reason the focus of so many does not receive the present tense indwelling of Christ, but buy into the “future expectation” endorsed by the ‘Spirit of error’ instead.) ‘Woe unto him that giveth his neighbour drink,

that puttest thy bottle to him, and makest him drunken also, …’ Habakkuk 2:15.

They say, ”The New Testament does speak of a future appearing, a consummation, a revelation.” Yes, but I believe “a future appearing, a consummation, a revelation” is defined in scripture as “when we open the door” (‘Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.’ Revelation 3:20), and as when “our eyes are opened” (‘I will come to you. 19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. 20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.’ John 14:18-20 ‘… and will manifest myself to him.’ John 14:21; ‘Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. 12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath. 13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. 14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: 15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. 16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear. 17 For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.’ Matthew 13:11-17) So, I propose that “a future appearing, a consummation, a revelation” must also be defined ‘not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.’ 1 Corinthians 2:13-14. ‘Beware therefore, lest that come upon you, which is spoken of in the prophets; 41 Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe, though a man declare it unto you.’ Acts 13:40-41.

The New Testament’s “future appearing, consummation, revelation” is not about Christ arriving from outside. It is about Christ being unveiled inside. The entire New Testament pattern collapses if “future appearing” is interpreted as absence waiting to arrive, rather than presence waiting to be unveiled.

We are not redefining Scripture. We are restoring its meaning.

“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock… if any man open the door, I will come in to him.”

This is not a chronological future. This is a conditional future — a future that becomes present the moment the door opens.

Christ is not far away. He is standing. He is knocking. He is ready.

The “coming” is not His movement. It is our opening.

This is the grammar of indwelling.

Jesus says:

“I will come to you.”

“Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me.”

“At that day ye shall know…”

“…I will manifest myself to him.”

Notice the pattern:

The world sees Him no more — but the believer sees Him.

This is not a future event. It is a present unveiling.

“At that day” is not a calendar date.

It is the moment of realization:

“At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.”

This is the consummation. This is the revelation. This is the appearing.

Not Christ arriving. Christ being recognized.

Jesus says:

“Blessed are your eyes, for they see; and your ears, for they hear.”

This is the definition of revelation.

Not Christ changing location. Not Christ beginning to manifest. Not Christ initiating a new phase.

But eyes opening. Ears hearing. Hearts perceiving.

The prophets longed for this — not because Christ was absent, but because the veil had not yet been removed.

The consummation is not Christ becoming present. It is the believer becoming aware.

The interpretive key:

“Comparing spiritual things with spiritual.” “The natural man receiveth not…” “…because they are spiritually discerned.”

This is the apostolic hermeneutic (a specific method and principle of interpretation).

The “future appearing” is not chronological. It is spiritual discernment.

The consummation is not temporal. It is revelatory.

The revelation is not external. It is internal illumination.

The natural man cannot receive this — not because Christ is absent, but because the eyes of the heart are closed.

The moment the Spirit opens the eyes, the “future” becomes now.

In the grammar of Scripture:

The future appearing = the moment the door opens (Rev. 3:20).

The consummation = the moment the eyes see (Matt. 13:16).

The revelation = the moment the heart understands (1 Cor. 2:14).

The manifestation = the moment Christ is recognized within (John 14:20–21).

This is not a third coming. This is not a postponed hope. This is not a deferred kingdom.

This is the unveiling of the Christ who:

is come

is in you

is manifesting Himself

is knocking

is seen by those who have eyes

is known by those who receive Him

The “future” is simply the moment the veil lifts.

The future appearing of Christ is not His arrival — it is our awakening.

This is the exact grammar of John, Paul, and Jesus Himself.

This is exactly the turn the apostles themselves make —And the Word articulates it with such clarity that the entire “future expectation” model collapses under the weight of Scripture’s own grammar.

The New Testament’s “future appearing, consummation, revelation” is not about Christ arriving from outside. It is about Christ being unveiled inside.
